A broad legal practice

We advise on advisory, transactional and regulatory matters, as well as on the prevention and resolution of disputes.

This breadth of expertise enables us to support you both in your projects and in the most sensitive situations, whether you are a company, an institution, an investor, an executive or a private individual.

A bridge between Luxembourg and the international community

Our firm is firmly rooted in Luxembourg’s legal, economic and institutional environment. A significant proportion of our work involves clients, transactions or matters with an international dimension.

We advise foreign companies, institutions and investors seeking to establish a presence, invest or develop their activities in Luxembourg. We also assist our Luxembourg clients with their cross-border projects, working in coordination with foreign law firms selected according to the specific requirements of each engagement.

Our lawyers’ international backgrounds, their in-depth knowledge of the local market and our network of partner firms enable us to work effectively across multiple jurisdictions.

“Our role is to build bridges between international stakeholders and Luxembourg’s legal, economic and institutional landscape.”

Our history

A story of independence and ambition

At the end of 2005, Jean Brucher, Marie Bena and Nicolas Thieltgen left the Luxembourg office of a leading US law firm to establish an independent practice.

Their ambition was to provide rigorous and broad-ranging legal advice, maintain direct relationships with their clients and develop a practice capable of addressing matters in all their complexity.

We began operating in 2006 under the name Brucher & Associés. Over the following years, we gradually expanded our teams, client base and areas of expertise, before becoming Brucher Thieltgen & Partners in 2010. This evolution reflected the emergence of our collective identity and our continued growth within the Luxembourg legal market.

Growing through trust and knowledge-sharing

Over the years, we have broadened our expertise, strengthened our organisation and been entrusted with increasingly significant matters. Our growth accelerated from 2018 onwards, driven by the expansion of our teams and the further professionalisation of our internal functions.

Several lawyers who have built their careers within our firm are now Partners. These appointments support our continued growth, ensure continuity in our governance and reflect the strength of our internal development model.

“Internal promotion preserves the continuity of our culture while enabling new generations to contribute to the firm’s development.”

Anne-Marie Ka, Partner

A third decade focused on the future

Twenty years after its founding, Brucher Thieltgen & Partners brings together around sixty professionals and advises a Luxembourg and international client base.

Today, our firm has considerably greater resources while remaining true to the principles that guided its creation. Professional excellence, the breadth of our expertise and the quality of our relationships remain at the heart of our model.

Our development continues to be driven by clear priorities, including strengthening our areas of expertise, supporting the progression of our talent and maintaining a high standard of service on the most demanding matters.

“The firm’s continued growth reflects the trust of our clients, the development of our teams and our ability to handle increasingly demanding matters.”

Philippe Sylvestre, Partner

Our values

Thinking independently, advising with conviction

Our independence is both a professional imperative and a tangible advantage for our clients.

It enables us to approach each matter without preconceived answers, bring together the most relevant expertise and work freely with foreign counsel whenever your situation requires it.

We challenge analyses, question assumptions and provide clear, considered recommendations. Our responsibility extends beyond determining what is legally possible: it is to identify the solution best suited to your objectives and circumstances.

Rigour in support of action

We devote the same level of attention to the quality of our analysis, the definition of strategy and the execution of each engagement.

Our commitment to excellence is reflected in the precision of our work, the clarity of our positions and a realistic assessment of risk. You should be able to understand the available options, their implications and the recommendation we make.

Our role is not limited to explaining the applicable law. We seek to translate legal analysis into well-informed decisions and solutions tailored to your situation, objectives and constraints.

“Our responsibility is to develop the firm with ambition while preserving the trust placed in us by our clients and our teams.”

Nicolas Bernardy, Partner

People at the heart of our model

The quality of our advice depends on the expertise of those who deliver it, but also on their ability to work together and understand your expectations.

We place particular importance on listening, respect and the quality of professional relationships. These principles guide both the way we support our clients and the way we develop the members of our firm.

We are committed to providing an environment in which everyone can grow, take on responsibility and contribute to an ambitious collective project. Our Best Workplace certification for three consecutive years reflects this commitment.

“Professional excellence and genuine consideration for people are the two foundations of lasting success.”

Marie Bena, Founding Partner

Sharing knowledge, building careers

A diversity of expertise becomes a true strength when it is organised around a shared vision.

Our teams are assembled according to the needs of each matter. This approach encourages knowledge-sharing, the exchange of perspectives and the coordination of different areas of expertise within a single strategy.

Knowledge transfer plays an essential role in our model. Our lawyers are progressively involved in strategic thinking, client discussions and the management of matters. The career paths of several of our Partners provide a tangible illustration of our commitment to building long-term careers within the firm.

The same commitment to excellence, over time

Since our founding, we have developed our firm around a consistent conviction: the quality of legal advice depends on combining legal expertise, independence of judgement and an understanding of the human, economic and strategic issues at stake.

This commitment guides the way we work, the relationships we build with you and the development of our teams.
